The UK Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir David Richards, was in Malta earlier this week for talks with senior AFM officers, the AFM said today.
Brigadier Martin Xuereb, AFM commander, said the focus of this visit was to continue building on the excellent military-to-military relationships, best shown in the training opportunities available to Maltese officers in the UK.
General Richards paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and paid tribute to Malta and its armed forces for its role during the Libyan crisis.
